Dennis Robert Thumm, 70, of Dearborn Heights, MI, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Beaumont Oakwood Hospital, Dearborn, MI. He was born April 2, 1946 in Ann Arbor, MI, son of the late Robert Ward Thumm and Avis Irene Wollam Thumm. His wife Merle Thumm survives of Grafton; they were united in marriage September 2, 1973.
Dennis graduated from Ypsilanti High, Ypsilanti, MI. He was self-employed as an Interior Painter/Paper Hanger. He loved to read especially about history, Dennis loved to sing and listen to music. Going to church was one of the most important things in his life and he traveled all over to churches and he loved to hear Gods word. Dennis played the trombone and trumpet. He enjoyed hunting, boating and the outdoors.
He is survived by four children, Rachel Minard and husband Junior, Webster, Sarah Bittenbender and husband Lucas, Bridgeport, Abigail Hess and husband John, Hacker Valley, WV, Aaron Thumm, Morgantown; three grandchildren, Sawyer Bittenbender, Aleina Coddington, and Jacob Hess; one twin sister, Deborah Calhoun, Ypsilanti, MI.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, William Thumm.
