Dennis Ralph Facchini of Plymouth formerly of Kingston, died peacefully with his family at his side in his home on October 2nd. Born in Kingston, Massachusetts on August 16, 1934, son of the late Arnold and Carrie (Ortolani) Facchini. He was educated in Kingston and was a graduate of Kingston High School, he went on to serve his country in the US Marines where he served for three years with the 1st Marine Division during the Korean War. He later served with the United States Naval Reserve and the United States Army National Guard. Dennis attended Northeastern University for two years in Boston. After the Korean War he went thru the Miami Police Academy and was a member of the Miami Police Department. Dennis later moved back to Kingston where he became a Correction Officer at M.C.I. Bridgewater for two years then became a Plymouth County Deputy Sheriff, he then went on to join the Kingston Police Department and retired after twenty years of service. Dennis received flight training under the Korean War G.I. Bill and became a licensed pilot and flew for the D.E.A. searching for illegal drug activity. He also flew with the N.H. State Police during that time. He had also been the Chief pilot of the Plymouth County Fire Patrol Plane since 1999 Dennis enjoyed many hobbies, skydiving as well as flying gilders and airplanes were some of his favorites. He was a member of the Plymouth V.F.W Post 1822 and the Plymouth Aero is survived by his longtime companion Linda Coakley of Kingston. His 2 sons Kevin Facchini and his wife Alex of Duxbury and Bruce Facchini and his wife Kathy of Plymouth. Brother of Arnold Facchini Jr. of Plymouth, Claire Wager of Duxbury, Lorraine Emond of Plymouth and Doreen Kraft (deceased) of Florida. Grandfather of Stephanie Gabriner and her husband Michael, Dominic and Jarod, great grandfather of Miles Gabriner. He was the husband of the late Judith W. (Barnes) Facchini.
