Dennis Peter Meyer, 88, of Clyde, died at his home on Saturday, January 10, 2015.

“Denny” was born in Riley Township, Sandusky County, Ohio on October 8, 1926. One of ten children born to Edward and Edith (Dolwick) Meyer.

He graduated from Clyde High School in 1944, and went into the US Army, serving in the Pacific Theatre, Japan.

Mr. Meyer was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clyde. He had been a Little League umpire; a member of the Clyde VFW; Eagles; Moose and Knights of Columbus.

In 1994, after over fifty years, he retired from Whirlpool Corp.

On July 31, 1954, he married Helen T. Rosenberger. She survives, along with their children, William (Lynne) Meyer; John (Karen) Meyer, all of Clyde; Mary Ann (James Hellinger, Ontario, Ohio; Denise Franks and Theresa Meyer-Dean, all of Clyde. Eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also survive.

Denny was preceded in death by four brothers,Harold Meyer; Wilbur Meyer; Leo Meyer; Paul Meyer; and five sisters, Matilda Horton; Imelda Meyer; Dorothy Baker; Anna Rose Meyer and Elizabeth Heimbaugh.
