Dennis Paul Valenzano, 77, of Sagamore Beach, passed away on January 5, 2019, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his beloved wife of 55 years, Linda (Morse) Valenzano. He was the loving father of Rachel and Donald Valenzano and his wife Amanda of Sagamore Beach. He leaves four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dennis was born on December 19, 1941 in Holden, MA to Angelina Valenzano, who passed away at a young age, leaving Dennis orphaned. He spent many years moving from one home to another until age ten when he went to reside with Thomas and Catherine Brown of Plymouth. The Browns had three boys, Thomas Brown and Henry Brown of Plymouth, the late John Brown and two foster children, the late Harry Mills and Henry Long. At the age of fourteen, Dennis began working on fishing boats out of Plymouth harbor. Later he worked in the shoe factory and many years as a carpenter before becoming a bus driver. He worked for Greyhound Lines until his retirement in 1995. He drove routes from Boston to New York City, Washington, D.C., Bangor, ME, Buffalo, NY and places in between. His greatest joys were charter trips to Canada with European travelers. For a couple of years, Dennis was a driving instructor for new hires but, ended up back on the road, which he enjoyed most. Upon his retirement, he worked part-time for Bloom Bus and eventually went to work for First Student driving the afternoon athletic teams to games. Dennis enjoyed being with friends. His door was always open to family and friends for visits or to enjoy a meal. If someone needed a place to stay, at “Dennis’ House” they had a place to call their own. Although he was known for his gruffness, we all knew he was a marshmallow under the bluster. He spent many hours target shooting with his children and friends.
