Dennis Carl Oestreich was born February 1, 1939 in Norfolk, the son of Carl, Jr. and Althea (Grimm) Oestreich.
He was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Norfolk.
On August 17, 1958, Dennis married Jeneane Wichert at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Norfolk.
Dennis worked in California for Boeing Aircraft, then at Adhor Farm where he showed champion cattle at California fairs. He returned to Nebraska to farm the Oestreich Homestead where he grew up.
Dennis loved to hatch and raise exotic birds. He always planted huge gardens, giving away lots of produce from them.
He enjoyed learning and reading about ancient and modern history.
Dennis is survived by his wife Jeneane, children LaJean (Bruce) Siebrandt, Carroll Sonny (Deanna) Oestreich, David (Rosa) Oestreich, Mark, Sr. (Rhonda) Oestreich, LaNelle (Keith) Krajewski, and Brett (Tara) Oestreich, 27 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and brother-in-law Gerald Wichert.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Denise Oestreich, granddaughter Whitney Stallbaum, and great grandson Jace Nickolite.
