Dennis Orden Buchanan was welcomed into the loving arms of his Savior on Friday, January 15, 2021. Dennis passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Dennis was born on August 15, 1966, in Whittier, California to Michael and Irene Buchanan. Dennis attended Jacksonville (Alabama) Laboratory High School and Boise (Idaho) High School. Dennis married and has two children – April King and Jake Buchanan both in Idaho. When Dennis returned to Alabama, he sought refuge at The Downtown Rescue Mission where he was a dutiful student. After graduation, Dennis remained a presence at The Mission where he counseled, mentored, preached, taught, and worked. Dennis’ amazing testimony of God’s great grace propelled his evangelistic endeavors. With friends at The Downtown Rescue Mission, CrossPointe Church, and Capshaw Baptist, Dennis spent time sharing God’s Word and his personal testimony. Dennis cherished his memories of evangelizing at two Super Bowls (Miami and Atlanta). Dennis loved the Crimson Tide, fishing, and playing NCAA College Football on PlayStation.
