Dennis Morris, age 71, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Wednesday evening, December 16, 2015 in The Timbers of Cass County in Dowagiac. He was born November 21, 1944 in Spindale, North Carolina to Maggie Lou Morris, the oldest of three children. His mother preceded him in death.Uncle Ds loved to cook and served at Camp Baber in Cassopolis. He loved listening to rock and roll, acid rock, and country music.
He followed NASCAR and Michigan State sports and loved sports. Brother Ds liked to party. He loved his family. Dennis will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by one son, Anthony Morris of Queens, New York; one sister, Winona (husband, Percy) Beard of Elkhart; one brother, Marquis D. Thompson of Louisiana; four nieces, LaShawn (husband, Mandell, Sr.) Thomas of Elkhart, Sharhonda Mackey of Elkhart, Belinda Mackey of Elkhart, Marquisha (husband, Jonathan) McFarland of Louisiana; one great niece, Shalree Thomas of Elkhart; seven great nephews, Jamonte Joiner of Niles, Mandell, Jr. (wife, Helena) Thomas of Elkhart, Jamahl Thomas of Elkhart, Erieus Gates of Elkhart, Michael Edmonson of Elkhart, ShaNeal Mackey of Indianapolis, Tre’Von Mackey of Elkhart; four great great nieces, Kimorah Joiner, Aubrey Thomas, Kyleigh Joiner, Ellianna Thomas; two great great nephews, La Kyren Thomas and Ashton Adkins.
