Dennis “John” Dempsey, age 86, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at his home in Newnan surrounded by family. He was born May 23, 1929 in London England to the late William Joseph Dempsey and Margaret McLoughling Dempsey. John spent many years in the British Army. During his time in the military he was able to travel and grew to love it. After leaving the military he lived in Venezuela where he enjoyed dressing up every year at Christmas time as Santa Clause and going around to the orphanages handing out gifts to the less fortunate. John was a very caring man with a big heart for helping others. He enjoyed reading and watching Tennis on T.V. He also had a great love for Electrical Engineering. He spent many years working for Exxon Mobil as an Engineer. Along with his great love for his hobbies and career he cared dearly for his friends and family. He is survived by his loving wife Carmen Guzman-Dempsey and children John Jr., Luis, Miriam, Sara, Vida and her husband Michael Wilson. He is also survived by grandchildren Gracie, Sophie, Matthew and sister Noreen Dempsey.
