Dennis Gordon Southland, 71, of Rocky Hill, passed away on Thursday, March 5th at the State Veterans Hospital in Rocky Hill. He was the son of the late Gordon and Natale (Rooney) Southland. Dennis was born in Meriden and lived there most of his life. He signed up with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Dennis worked for J. B. Coggins Company in Meriden for seventeen years and was security for Ames Department Store and Stop and Shop. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Holiman) Southland; his daughter, April Velsor and her husband, Shawn; two grandchildren, Victoria and Chris Velsor, all of Meriden and his sister, Sharlaine Lardge of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
