Denny Blumberg, 62, of O’Fallon, Illinois, born September 25, 1954 in East St. Louis, Illinois passed away peacefully on September 11, 2017, at his home with his family by his side. Denny grew up in Collinsville, Illinois where he enjoyed spending time with his brother, Kenny, and his cousin, Ronnie.
He married Maureen in 1982 and enjoyed almost 35 years of marriage. Together, Denny and Maureen raised three children, Sara, Scott, and Sean. He was a committed family man, avid boater, and dedicated builder of homes and communities with his company, Huntington Chase Homes. His biggest pride was his family, all of whom Denny instilled qualities such as generosity and love for others. A dedicated and loved member of the community, Denny touched the lives of many as he built more than homes – he built friendships, relationships, and lasting bonds within the community. In his free time, Denny loved going to see his favorite hockey team, the St. Louis Blues, play. His two favorite places, other than home with his family, were Walt Disney World and the Lake of the Ozarks.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth O. Blumberg, and niece, Amy Blumberg. Denny is survived by his wife, Maureen Blumberg, nee Lillie, of Collinsville, IL; mother, Nancy Blumberg, nee Haley, of Collinsville, IL; children, Sara (Jon) Townsend of O’Fallon, IL, Scott (Ashton) Blumberg of St. Charles, MO, Sean Blumberg of O’Fallon, IL; brother, Kenny (Sue) Blumberg of Collinsville, IL, grandchild, Aidan Townsend; mother-in-law, Janice Lillie of O’Fallon, IL; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.
