Denny went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on November 23, 1944 in Canton, OH, the son of Melvin Glenn and Ellen Mae (Rodgers) Sanders.

On June 27, 1965, Denny was united in marriage to Sally K. Erskine. Denny had a great impact on many, beginning with his teaching high school for a few years at his alma mater, Canton Lincoln High School. He then moved his family to Kalamazoo, MI where he was the first Director of Junior Achievement for Kalamazoo and Van Buren counties.

He then focused his career on people, by working in personnel for the City of Kalamazoo, and then for 28 years as the Division Human Resource Manager for Parker-Hannifin Brass Products Division. He retired in 2007 to enjoy more time with family he loved so dearly. Denny also enjoyed reading, antiquing, collecting Disneyana, and traveling with his wife. Preceding him in death were his father: Melvin Sanders; step-father: Walter Holstrom and granddaughter: Ellyse K. Sanders.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years: Sally Sanders; their three sons; Shaun (Dana) Sanders of Georgetown, TX, Brian (Sandra) Sanders of Kalamazoo, and Todd (Maggie) Sanders of Zeeland, MI; 12 grandchildren: Sara, Jonathan, Madison, Mason, Annalyse, Abigail, Ellen, Elijah, Morgan, Bailey, Mitchell and Avery; 2 great-grandchildren: Dominic and Genevieve; mother: Ellen Mae Holstrom of Kalamazoo; sister: Jeanne Perdue of Canton, OH; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
