Dennis G. Ragland, 66 of Sheridan, Indiana passed away on September 11, 2020 at his home with his wife at his side.
Dennis was born on December 9, 1953 to the late Willie “Bill” Ragland and Betty (Jones) Ragland, Phillips in Springfield, Tennessee. Dennis earned his certifications as a Truck Scale Technician and he was considered one of the best in his field. The companies he worked for would always want him on a jobsite whether repairing a scale or installing a new one; they knew the job would be done correctly and the calibrations would be correct. Before Dennis’s illness he worked for both Toledo Scale and System Scale where his specialty were truck scales. Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing and hunting for mushrooms plus he always looked forward to playing cards. He was an avid NASCAR fan and Jeff Gordon fan. All his family and friends will remember his Fourth of July hog roast they were quite the production.
On May 10, 1974 Dennis married the love of his life Mary (Turner) Ragland and they have been at each other side for the last 46 years. she survives him. Dennis will also be greatly missed by his two sons Dennis J. (Jamie) and Jeremy (Lillie) Ragland, Dennis is a proud grandfather to Briley, Bryson, Brian, Lizzie, Winnie and Owen. One thing Dennis was looking forward too was being able to meet his first great-grandchild Owen who is due in October. Dennis is also survived by his sister Eva (Wally) Clark along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
