Dennis G. Bowen, age 70, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday evening, March 6, 2018.
Dennis was born May 2, 1947 in Merrill, WI to Glenn and Phyllis (Karenke) Bowen. After honorably serving in the US Army in Korea, Dennis began a long career in newspaper circulation with the Milwaukee Journal, the Marquette Mining Journal, and the UP Sunday Times. He retired from the Escanaba Daily Press as Circulation Manager in 2015.
Dennis served as a Board Member of Lakestate Industries, a member of Noon Kiwanis serving in various capacities, and advisor to AKTION Club. He was also very involved in Special Olympics as a certified Figure Skating coach for his daughter Deni.
Dennis is survived by his daughters Denielle Bowen and Natasha (Jack) Ratliff and grandsons Hunter and Grayson and 4 step children Kelly, Tim (Wendy), John and David (Kim) December and their children Kevin (Kalyn) , Kyle (Kira) and Nicole December. His significant other Denise Pelish and their grandson Tony. His sisters Sandra (Phil) Drew, Linda (Dale) Andersen, brothers Daniel (Jean) Bowen and Greg Bowen as well as their Aunt Phyllis (Pete) Kell and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his wife Beverly in 1998.
