Dennis Edward Curtin, 70, of Metamora, IL passed away at 3:17 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria. He was born on December 17, 1945 in Peoria, IL to Edward T. and Catherine “Jean” (Hellman) Curtin.
Surviving are his children Denise (Scott) Hough of Germantown Hills and Dana (Melissa) Curtin of Metamora; grandchildren Brady and Ally Hough and Travis and Tanner Curtin; sister Samra Neer of Denver, CO; two nieces; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John “Mike” Curtin.
Dennis was a 1963 graduate of Washington Community High School. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving on the USS Cook during the Vietnam War. He was a machinist for Caterpillar retiring after 36 years. He was a Cubs fan and loved motor-cross races, boating, golfing, skiing, and camping. He enjoyed watching his grandkids’ sporting events. Dennis was a loving father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
