Dennis Earl Schmidt, 79, of Lowpoint, IL, passed away at 7:20 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL.
He was born on May 15, 1943, in Milwaukee, WI, to Irwin E. and Charlotte (Kajawski) Schmidt. He married Karen Winters on December 6, 1980 in Peoria, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Karen of Lowpoint; children, Victoria Schmidt of Madison, WI, Jerome Schmidt of Jacksonville, FL, Stephanie (Shawn) Brunelle of Crossville, TN, and Jason Loftus of Leroy, IL; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jill Duden, grandsons Andrew Filson and Jake Loftus, and one sister.
Dennis worked as a union electrician for Germantown Electric.
