Dennis “Denny” D. Wilson 74, Richmond, MN formerly of Granger, IA passed away May 30, 2021 at home peacefully. Denny was born, December 10, 1946 in Rochester, Indiana to Donald and Eldona Wilson. He graduated high school in Rochester, Indiana in 1965, and then enlisted into the United States Marine Corps in 1966 where he served in the Vietnam War and received the following awards; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon; Presidential Unit Citation, and Good Conduct Medal (“Semper Fi!”) After serving in the Marines, Denny attended college in Connecticut, and then eventually settled in Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!) where he raised his three kids. In 2001 Denny met Pam Jenkins whom he later married, and they have spent the past 20 years living life to the fullest and appreciating every day that God gave them with Denny. After working in the auto body industry for close to 40 years, Denny retired at the age of 62 and spent his time woodworking, mushroom hunting, fishing, cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes, spending time on Sanibel Island with Pam and making memories with his 19 grand-kids that he loved dearly and was so proud of. Denny was quite the cat spoiler as well and loved his cats Miss Kitty, Skittles, and Oscar dearly.
Denny is survived by his wife, Pam Jenkins; son, Kevin (Jill) Wilson with his children, Henry and Dylan; daughter, Shannon (Ben) Solberg with her children, Sullivan, Wyatt, Charlie and Gus; son, Brian Wilson with his children, Breanna, Alexis, Haley, Onika and Sephina, and great granddaughter, Navaiya; stepson, Teddy Jenkins with his children, Sarah and Cassidy; stepdaughter, Amanda (Michael) Field with her children, Sarah, Cassidy, Beckett and Grayson; stepson, Tyler (Crystal) Jenkins with his children, Alexa, Riley, Josie and Tucker; honorary granddaughters, Anna and Maggie Odegaard; siblings, Carol Sausman, David (Karen) Wilson and Barb (Norm) Clavio; and the awesome Odegaard Clan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that he loved spending time with and being the center of the laughter with his fun loving spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Eldona Wilson; in-laws, May Odegaard and Marvin Odegaard; sister, Bonnie Wilson; granddaughter, Fiona Wilson; and his favorite sidekicks, Miss Kitty and Skittles.
The family extends special thanks to Iowa Heart, Centracare St. Cloud, and the VA for keeping Denny going all these years! He had the spirit and you had the tools and skills!
