Those left to honor Dennis’ memory are his wife of 51+ years, Ruth of Newton; two daughters, Margaret (Richard) Mortensen of Grinnell, and Kathy Stewart of Newton; three sons, Mark (Candy) Stewart of Newton, Chris (Patty) Stewart of Knoxville, and Tim (Deb) Stewart of Forest, Virginia; his thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, two brothers, Lowell (Emmy) Stewart of Wichita, Kansas, and Jim Stewart of Moline, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd E. and Laura (Carson) Stewart.
Dennis was a production worker, as a painter and metal finisher at the Maytag Company for 34 years, retiring in 1986.
