Dennis Charles Martin passed from this world on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at the age of 69. Dennis was a two-time cancer survivor, a Vietnam War Veteran, a talented engineer, a loving husband, and a father of three. He was born December 22, 1946, to Harold K. and Hilda Martin and grew up in the small town of Washington, Missouri. As a kid, he repaired TVs and radios and as a teenager he touched up photos by hand while working for a photography studio. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla in 1969 and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1975. While attending Rolla, he met his future wife, Mary, whom he wed on March 30, 1973. After earning his first degree, he was hired by Bendix Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri. Later he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Then in 1981, he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico after being hired by Sandia National Laboratories. He eventually earned promotion to Principal Member of the Technical Staff. Dennis retired at the age of 62 after nearly 4 decades working as an Electrical Engineer. Over the years, Dennis was an active member of his church community.
