Dennis Emmett Andersen, 69 of Simms, MT died of natural causes Thursday, Nov 8 at Warm Springs State Hospital.

He was born Dec 22, 1942 in Great Falls, MT to Emmett F. and Eva June (Moore) Andersen. He graduated in 1960 from Simms High School. He served in the Army for 3 years as a Helicopter Medevac Crew Chief doing humanitarian missions in hostile areas in Somalia and Africa. He was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany and traveled to Africa and Egypt. He was honorably discharged in 1967.

He married his wife, Pat Holzheimer-McGivern on April 8, 1964. They left for Portland, OR the next day to seek new adventures. He went to school at General Motors Sales & Maintenance Welding Technical Training and took drafting classes at Portland Community College. He retired from the Portland Ship Yards in 1985 after he was injured on the job. He managed Coast to Coast/Ace Hardware in Portland, OR until he retired in 2001 and moved back to Simms, MT with his wife.

He had two sons, Lee Emmett Andersen married to Laree Dollison and they have two daughters, Leena and LeAnna, Shoreline, WA and Duane Patrick Andersen married to Toni Andersen and they have two children Dusti and Dayne, Enumclaw WA and he is a Seattle Firefighter.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Andersen, Simms, MT; mother, Eva June Andersen, Simms, MT; brothers, Vernon ( Bonnie) Andersen, Bynum, MT; Vic Andersen (Jane Heath), Simms, MT; Jack (Gloria) Andersen, Deer Lodge, MT; sister, Nadine (Bob) Rusk, Missoula, MT; son, Duane (Toni) Andersen, Enumclaw, WA; four grandchildren, Leena, LeAnna, Dusti and Dayne; cousin and best friends, Dell & JoAnn McCann.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Andersen and son, Lee Emmett Andersen.
