Denis V. Waldschmidt, 83, of Lacon, IL, formerly of Metamora, IL passed away at 6:53 am on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Unity Point Health-Proctor in Peoria. He was born on November 24, 1933 in Metamora, IL to Vitus O. and Gertrude E. (Scheirer) Waldschmidt.
Surviving are his children Janet Weldon, Mike (Denise) Waldschmidt, and Jerry (Melanie) Waldschmidt all of Metamora; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother Leonard (Kathryn) Waldschmidt of LaRose; and sister Anna Jean (Ronald) Krolak of Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by son Tim Waldschmidt, two brothers, and three sisters.
