Denis was born on October 3, 1946 in Granby, Quebec, Canada, son of the late Jean Pierre and Simone (Brodeur) MarcAurele. Denis moved to Hinesburg, VT in 1953. He proudly served in the 25th Infantry in the United States Army from 1966 to 1970. During his tour in the Vietnam Conflict, Denis was the recipient of two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He became a United States citizen in March of 2010 and was a life member of the DAV, VFW, and the American Legion Post 22. He enjoyed his bus trips with his veteran brothers to the wall in Washington D.C. His free time was spent motorcycling, snowmobiling, playing pool, cards and horseshoes. Let us not forget his occasional beer.

Besides his wife Cheryl, Denis is survived by his children Michael MarcAurele and his wife Sandy, and Michele Mathews; two grandchildren, Will and Ryan; his siblings Diane Leduc, Doris Shadee, Nicole Rykoski and her husband Ted, Denise Raskin and her husband Dan; Donald MarcAurele and his wife Nancy; and Sharon Bouffard and her husband Gary; his in-laws, Dorothy Jane (Magas)LeBlanc, Lydia LeBlanc, Alan LeBlanc and his wife Judy, David LeBlanc and his wife Laura, Danny LeBlanc and his wife Laura, Jason LeBlanc and Jerry LeBlanc; and numerous extended family and friends. He was predeaced by his father in law Howard LeBlanc; and bother in laws, Dave Shadee and Larry LeBlanc.
