Mr. Rodgers peacefully passed away at Mercy Hospital.

DeNarvis was born February 20, 1957 in San Diego, California. He was the youngest of four children born to loving parents, Frank and Lela Mae Rodgers. He graduated from Samuel F.B. Morse High School with the Class of 1974.

DeNarvis was employed with the City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department for seven years, primarily at the Rose Garden in Balboa Park as well as other areas within the park.

DeNarvis will be remembered as a great domino player as well as greeting his neighbors while offering gifts to the children in the neighborhood. He enjoyed his life and the presence of his family. DeNarvis will be greatly missed by his brothers, sister, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

On Monday, February 25, 2013, DeNarvis Rodgers was called from labor to eternal rest. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Frank Rodgers Jr. and Lela Mae Rodgers.

DeNarvis is survived by two brothers, Alphonso Rodgers and Frank Rodgers III both of San Diego, CA; one sister, Evangelist Evelyn Rodgers-Hayes (John) of San Diego, CA; two step-brothers, Angelo and Demetrius Blankenship of Los Angeles, CA; three step-sisters, Dorothy James, Denise and Ula Blankenship all of Los Angeles, CA; two aunts, Lola Phillips and Pearlie Mae Doze both of Houston, TX; three nieces, Heather Conley-Liggins of San Diego, CA, Lindsay Rodgers of Houston, TX and Samerra Dean of San Diego, CA; one nephew, Kevin Dean of San Diego, CA; godsons, Isiah and Geremiah Kelly of San Diego, CA; three great-nieces, two great-nephews, and a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.
