Dempson “Jerry” Haney, 81 of Bicknell, IN, passed away November 17, 2021at Freelandville Community Home at 10:39 PM, He was born June 23, 1940 in Odon, IN the son of Royal Haney and Genieve Riggle Haney Erwin.
Jerry served his county in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962 and on September 15, 1962 he married Elizabeth “Betty” Stanczak and they made their life together for over 56 years until her death on November 17, 2018.
He retired from Crane in 1992 where he worked as a quality control inspector. He held memberships in the Elks, Masonic Lodge and the French Club. He enjoyed sports car’s, motorcycle’s, camping, boating, traveling, flying planes and playing the guitar and piano.
Jerry is survived by a daughter, Genevive (Bob) Evans of Bicknell, IN, son, Jerry (Cheryl) Haney of Oaktown, IN, grandchildren, Carrie Cates, Dempson Jerry Haney III, Ben Evans, Tyler Haney, Elizabeth Evans and Brayton Haney. six great grandchildren, a brother, Max Haney of Edwardsport, IN and a sister, Timaline Walker of Orland, CA and a sister in law, Janice Haney of Bicknell, IN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Haney, his parents, Royal Haney and Genieve Haney Erwin, a sister, Jennis Plummer and a brother Lon Haney.
