Demetre C. “Jimmy” (the Greek) Bartzis, 88 of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Elkhart General Hospital on Thursday, June 8, 2017.
He was born in Krines of Korinthias, Greece on Dec. 18, 1928, to the late Christos and Magdelina (Thefonis) Bartzis and later married Linda L. Christopher in 1985. She survives him at home.
Also, surviving are children Susan (George) Kinsman and Joe, Pete and Steven Bartzis; brother Frank Bartzis; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
He is preceded in death by a son, Christopher Bartzis, and several brothers and sisters.
