Delton Stanger passed away September 8, 2022. He was born on April 11, 1927 to Lloyd and Edna Olson Stanger in Marriott, Utah, Weber County. Delton was raised on a farm in Slaterville, Utah. He attended Weber County schools and graduated from Weber High with the Class of 1945. Delton served in the U.S. Army, the European Theatre with Occupational Forces at the close of World War II.

Delton married Velma Beesley on October 8, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. She passed away in January 2018. They lived in Ogden for 7 years and then moved to Sunset, Utah and lived there for 52 years. They raised 3 sons, Craig, Stuart, and Kirt. In 2006 they moved back to Ogden.

Delton was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having several callings with the last being executive secretary. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golf, and bowling. He was also active in civic affairs being president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce (JayCees) for Sunset City. He worked for the Civil Service for 33 years retiring from Hill Air Force base in 1978.

Delton is survived by his three sons; brother David; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Gaylene Woodring; and one great-granddaughter.
