D. Jean Alberico, 86 of Kingwood, formerly of Newburg, WV, passed away Friday, October 02, 2015 at Heartland of Preston County with family by her side. She was born on May 29, 1929 in Monongalia County, daughter of the late Lawrence Henry and Olive Nethkin Means. Jean graduated from Newburg High School in 1946. She was the Postmaster for Newburg for many years, was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Kingwood. Jean is survived by her three children, ; Charolett Shaffer and husband Wade of Independence, Bill Alberico and companion Patty Ruble of Vienna, WV, Teena Holmes and husband Bill of Clarksburg; one daughter-in-law, Connie Alberico, six grandchildren, Terry Shaffer and Shelly, MI, Mike Shaffer and Kim, MI, Deanna Sizemore and Eric, MI, Willy Alberico, Kingwood, Brandon Snyder and Melanie, Harman, WV and Britney Taylor, Newburg; eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Logan, Taylor, Ashlee, Amber, Eli, Kayla and Kara , several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph William Alberico in 1972, second husband, Jim Watkins, one son, Ralph “Binky” Alberico and one daughter, Mary Taylor, eight sisters, Daisie Lambert, Mary Emerson, Beatrice McDaniel, Vera Markley, Mable Shawver, Hazel Kincell, Betty Constable, Geraldine DeMoss; two brother, Frank Edward Means and Lawrence Means.
