Deloris Ann House, a native of Choctaw Bluff and a resident of Jackson, made her earthly transition on Aug. 23, 2022 while at Providence Hospital. She was born July 2, 1954 to the late Martha Susanna Golden-House and Eddie House. She was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church in Choctaw Bluff in her earlier years. Later, she joined Myrtlewood AOH Church of God, where she served as mother of the church.
Deloris, known as Lois Ann, enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. She loved cooking, fishing, and taking long walks until her health began to fail. She loved the Lord and it showed in the way she treated everyone, especially children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving companion of 26 years, Jerry Gamble; daughter, Monica (Lordie) House-Richardson; two granddaughters and one grandson; brothers, Houston House and Ike Lee House; sisters, Bethel Darrington, Mary Lucas and Frances Perine; god-sons, Marshall and Lashavin Johnson.
Left to cherish her memories is her loving and caring daughter, April (Willie) West; a loving and devoted son, William Johnson Sr.; step-children, Jarvis Gamble, Janifer McDaniels and Debra Johnson; god-son, Lordie E. Richardson; eight grandsons, four devoted, Javontae, William Jr., Willie Jr. and Jayce; nine granddaughters, five devoted, Shakeibra (Shaquialle) Johnson, Hillary, Haily, Teresha and Kristyn; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one loving and devoted brother Jim ( Jamie ) House, a loving sister in law Marzell House, with a host of nephews, nieces , other relatives and friends.
