Delores L. Adams, 91, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 2, 2013, at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 8, 1922, in Elkhart to the late Floyd and Mary D. (Lauby) Swinehart. She is survived by Don R. Adams, whom she married Dec. 12, 1942, in LaGrange.

Survivors include six children, Dennis (Debbie) Adams of Grandbury, Texas, Marvin (Tina) Adams of Plymouth, Keith (Cathy) Adams of Goshen, Earl Adams of Georgia, Cheryl (David) Ford of Virginia and Marsha Evans of Goshen; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One sister, Delocia Sabey, of Coronado, Calif., also survives.

Her sisters DeEtta Sayers and Deliah Houseworth preceded her in death. Delores was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She worked at Peddler’s Horns, and retired from Miles Laboratories (Bayer) in 1977 after 25 years of service. She was a member of Bristol United Methodist Church and Homemakers Club in Bristol. Delores loved to sew, crochet and make quilts. She also polished stones to make jewelry.
