Delores June Brummett, 87, of Bloomington, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Delores was born March 28, 1934, in Bloomington and was the daughter of the late Herman and Pansy Mae (Mills) Hays. Delores had worked at Sarkes Tarzian, RCA, and Bloomington Hospital. She later worked for the Monroe County Community School Corporation as a Health Aide working at Templeton and Fairview Schools. She was a member of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, Alpha Delta Omega Sorority, and enjoyed gardening, bluegrass music, and attending the Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival.
Delores is survived by her daughter Kim (Mark) Gines; sister, Linda Hays Perry; Teressa D. Rhodes who was her son Jeff’s long time love; 4 grandchildren, David Brummett (Erin), Krystal Brummett, Savannah Brummett (John), and Kyle Brummett; 1 step-grandson, Tony Walker; 4 great-grandchildren;5 step-great-grandchildren;3 step-great-grandchildren.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband Don R. Brummett (2020); son, Jeff S. Brummett (2021); brother, Donald W. Hays; infant sister Nancy Carol Hays; grandparents Harold and Delista Hays and Hurl and Fannie Mills and her loving dog Scottie.
