She was preceded in death by her 5 other siblings—Calvin Nichols, Cody Ray Nichols, Roger Nichols, Hermie Frances Taylor and Barbara Scott.

Delores was born on November 29, 1944 in Charleston, West Virginia. She grew up in West Virginia, married in 1964 and then moved to Indiana shortly after to start a family. She divorced in 1979. Except for a short time in Florida living with her sister, she lived the majority of her adult life in Indiana.

Delores was a longtime devoted member of the Church of the Nazarene. She worked at Lear Corporation where she eventually retired. Delores was known as “Grandma Dynamite” by her colleagues and was the lady who made fudge and brought it in to share with them. We all loved and appreciated when she made us some of her specialties, a pineapple jello, 5-n-1 salad, and hummingbird cake, along with that fudge.

At home, Delores was a loving, proud mother and grandma. She enjoyed spending time with her family playing yahtzee and rummy. She was a joker and a playful teaser who made us laugh. She also loved her weekly bingo outings with friends. She will be forever loved and missed.
