Delores L. “Dee” Herren, 83, of East Peoria passed away at 1:10am Friday, April 29, 2016 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.
Dee was born on April 20, 1933 in East Peoria the daughter of the late Willis and Dorothy Marsh Kunkel. She married Robert G. Herren on December 26, 1951 in Pekin, IL.
Surviving are her husband, four children Robert Herren of Las Vegas, NV; Richard Herren of East Peoria, IL; Glenn (Kelly) Herren of Morton, IL and Christopher Herren of East Peoria, IL. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren Jason Herren, Alex (Robyn) Herren, Jessica (Craig) Walker, Justin (Nicole) Herren, Amanda (Daniel) Brown and Natalie Herren; 5 great grandchildren Daniel and William Brown, Olivia and Violet Herren and Taylor Herren; one brother George Kunkel of Springfield, IL; three sisters Helen (Gene) Blum of East Peoria, IL Susan Hamilton of Morton and Dixie (David) Shute of East Peoria, IL along with one brother-in-law Richard Herren of East Peoria.
Dee was a 1951 graduate of East Peoria Community High School. After she retired from Caterpillar Tractor, Inc. she spent many joyful hours in her garden. Dee was a woman of faith and cared deeply for the ones who surrounded her.
