On December 4, 2017, Delores “Waffy” (Delgado) Newson, born July 1, 1944, passed from this world after a courageous battle with cancer. She is now at peace with her mother, Mary “Babes” Delgado, father, Anthony “Oval” Delgado, older sister, Geraldine Delgado, and older brother, Anthony “Joey” Delgado. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Lynne Newson, grandchildren, Alyssa and Reese Newson, daughter and son-in-law, Michelle (Newson) and Robert Arsego, siblings, Roberta Vincent, Brenda Delgado, Laura Clemons, Ronald Delgado, Doreen Szpyrka, and numerous beloved aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Delores was a career, self-taught paralegal. She began her nearly 40-year career at Connecticut Legal Aid in Willimantic, then worked for several law firms in the Norwich area, retiring from Brown Jacobson Law Firm.
She was a very strong, independent, funny, loving woman, who always cherished the company of her friends and family. While her individual light has dimmed, the world is a brighter and warmer place because of the seventy-three years she spent on this earth. Rest in peace, mom. We love you!
