Obituary of Delores A. Gnagey

Gnagey, Delores A. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Edgewood Assisted Living Center. She was 77 years old.
Delores Ann Gnagey was born on April 21, 1939 in Bay Port, Michigan to the late Elias D. and Amanda (Ropp) Gnagey. She graduated from high school and then attended one year of college at Eastern Mennonite College in Shenandoah Valley, Virginia and her second year at Delta College, earning her business degree. Delores worked as an accountant for 17 years as a CPA, in private accounting for 5 years for a farm equipment dealer, and finally 18 years for a law firm.
She was a Big Sister in the Big Brothers & Big Sisters of America organization for 31 years and continued relationships with the children and their families. Delores was also a member of A.S.W.A Chapter #34, serving in various officer positions and committees and served for a number of years as an Election Inspector. She was an active member of Ninth Street Community Church. In the least, as a member of the church, Delores served as Financial Coordinator for the church, was in the choir, was part of the Mennonite Women’s group, and was a church deaconess for six years. In her spare time, Delores enjoyed extensive travel throughout United States and Canada, as well as partaking on a cruise to the Virgin Islands and Prince Edward Island.
Delores is survived by sisters-in-law: Herma Gnagey, Marjorie Gnagey, and Velma Gnagey; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great nephews; “3 Little Sisters” and their families; and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings: Clara (Jesse) Yoder, Ray Gnagey, Leroy Gnagey, and Omar Gnagey.
