Delora Mae “Dee” McDaniel, 74, of Parma, died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at home of natural causes.
Delora Mae Sager was born October 12, 1935 to Harley and Eula Sager in Parma, Idaho, the eldest of three. She grew up in the Nu Acres community on the family farm with her 3 younger brothers.
At an early age she showed a great interest in music and became an accomplished pianist. Her and her brothers grew up singing around the piano.
She graduated from Fruitland High School in the spring of 1953. On October 13, 1953 she married, Dale McDaniel, the love of her life. They spent 56 loving years together until his passing in November 2009. She always said that life with Dale was never boring. They owned the Fort Boise Inn for 30 years.
Together they raised two children, Rhonda and Rory, who both adored her and knew she was the worlds best mom and grandma. She loved her family unconditionally and was always there for us anytime we needed it. No one ever went hungry in her home, she always insisted that she make something us something to eat.
Anything she did always had a special touch.
She is survived by her daughter Rhonda Van Zelf (John), son Rory McDaniel (Ginny), grandchildren: Casi L. McDaniel, Cody McDaniel, Rory Van Zelf (Beki), and RoJon Echevarria (Casey), and seven great-grandchildren, all of Parma. Brothers: Harley (Bertha), Kyle (Naomi), and Maynard (Martha) Sager. 3 brother-in-laws and 3 sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Dale.
