On Saturday, July 15, 2023, God, in His infinite wisdom, saw that the road had become mighty rough and the hills too hard to climb.  So He reached down in His own time and His own way and beckoned Mrs. Della Mae Cooper DuBose from this Earthly dwelling.
   
Della, daughter of the late Edward Truby Cooper and Annie Sue Heckstall Cooper, was born on March 20, 1936, in Windsor, North Carolina.  She attended and graduated from W.S. Etheridge, in 1954.  She later moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she met and married Albert DuBose, Sr.  Later they returned to his childhood home of Camden, South Carolina. 
    
Della was later employed by E.I. DuPont, May Plant in 1971 and then by Skyline Sewing Company in the 1980’s.  She then received her CNA license and began working at Springdale Nursing Home where she worked for over twenty years and retired in 2011.  She was known for her tireless energy, sweet and friendly demeanor and strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
     
Della was preceded in death by her husband, Albert DuBose, Sr.; a son, Dennis DuBose; a granddaughter, LaRonda Chanel DuBose and a great-niece, Aisha Lee.
    
Sweet memories remain with those who loved Della and the many lives she touched. She leaves five children, Albert DuBose, Jr. (Carrie) of Washington, DC, Loretta Peay(Johnnie) of Rembert, SC, Bernard DuBose (Angela), Ronald DuBose (Tawanda) and Deborah  (Roger) Maple all of Camden, SC; a daughter-in-law, Marcella of Fayetteville, NC; seven grandchildren, Desmond, Michael, Arquette, Dennishia, Octavia, Davion and Semaj; ten great grandchildren, Lauryn, Ta’Lisiah, Zyaire, Taliyah, Makiyah, Aubrielle, Namya, Layla and Julez; a niece, Sandra Lee, a great-niece, Britany Lee; a great-nephew, Shane Lee and a host of family and friends.
