She worked at Penacook Place for over twenty years as a Certified Nurse’s Aid/Activity Assistant. Her coworkers and residents found her to be an absolute joy to be around. She was able to lift the spirits of all those around her with an easy smile or a quirky joke.
Her love for people spilled over into every single thing that she did. She was known for her extremely kind heart, her warm spirit, and her formidable strength. One of the most amazing traits of Delia was her ability to always put others before herself… not just family… not only close friends but anyone in need.
She made certain her children never wanted for anything. She would spend her Saturday mornings dancing and singing to her favorite salsa and freestyle music while cleaning and cooking. She was so full of energy and her family found that infectious. What would people who knew Delia say about her? She was always cracking jokes and making people laugh.
She has been reunited in Heaven with her daughter, Jenevy Hernandez, and her loving father, Pedro Merced, Sr. To every person that has the blessing of knowing this woman she will be sadly missed.
