Delbert R. Copple 93, of Centralia, passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at Fireside House in Centralia surrounded by his family.
Delbert was born July 13, 1926 in Boyd, IL, the son of Callie Copple and Myrtle (Chapman) Copple.
He married Doris Ann Radley on April 21, 1951 in Mt. Vernon, IL and she survives him in Centralia. In addition to his wife Doris Ann of 68 years, he is survived by one daughter: Lynn Bain and husband Jon of Walnut Hill; three grandchildren: Justin Bain of Walnut Hill, Emily Bain of Walnut Hill, and Jaimie Bain of Centralia; two great grandchildren: Kingston and Harlow; one sister: Vera Foutch of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents: Callie and Myrtle Copple; one daughter: Lisa Copple; eight siblings: Darrel Copple, Ferne Norfleet, Tess Garren, Hubert Copple, Mabel Lamb, Lester Copple, Dean Copple, and Sam Copple.
Delbert served in the Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Calumet Street Christian Church in Centralia, where he was a founding member and was a past Sunday school teacher and Deacon. Delbert was an avid Trout fisherman. His favorite fishing location was on the White River in Arkansas.
