Delbert Kenneth Chipps, 88, of Lakeland and formerly Masontown, WV, passed November 8, 2022. He was born in Masontown, WV on June 6, 1934 to Lonnie and Edith Chipps. He worked as a coal miner for many years, moved to Lakeland in 1994, and worked for DJ Trusses until his retirement at age 86.
His hobbies included watching the Dallas Cowboys football games and watching western films.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Gerald Chipps, Dorothy Braham, and Paul Chipps, his former wife, Ruth Lucille Chipps, his daughter Debra Lynn Kirby, and his granddaughter Ashley Lynne Roth.
He is survived by his son, Gerald (Jerry) Chipps of Polk City, FL and his daughter, Leslie (Gary) Roth of Lakeland, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ruth, Misha, Joshua, Rachel, Robbie, Rebekah, Aaron, Jay, Stacy, AJ, Adam, Bryan, Isaac, Blythe, and Garrett.
