Jessie Mae, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Richland District One where she attended Lower Richland High School. Her last place of employment prior to health declining was Shaw Industries of Columbia, SC.

Jessie Mae was a woman of exceptional talents. As a youth, she played recreational softball for several years. She was the family’s hair braider. She loved completing crossword puzzles. Jessie Mae was a great cook, and her home was always a family staple for a hot meal. She was a hard worker and relentless fighter in every sense of the word. She cherished her family, which is why family events were her favorite past times. She loved listening to Charlie Wilson’s music and dancing with her grandchildren.
