On Sunday, October 14, 2018, Reta DeeAnne Clark Whetten, our beloved 81-year-old mother, passed away peacefully at her home in Ammon, Idaho. She was surrounded by loving family. DeeAnne had fought and won a first round of cancer; then upon its return, she courageously chose to move forward in her journey toward eternal life with God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
DeeAnne was born on April 28, 1937, in Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Reta Jane Brown Clark and Bryant Randall Clark. The fourth of six children, she graduated from the Juarez Stake Academy on May 25, 1955. One week later, on June 1, 1955, she married her handsome sweetheart, Othello Jean Whetten, in the Salt Lake Temple in Utah.
Jean and DeeAnne’s adventures together spanned over 63 years and brought them ten children: four daughters and six sons. They enjoyed living in Mexico, Utah, Texas, Chile, Panama, and Idaho.
