Dedrick was a proud father of 6 children, who he loved dearly. The U.S. Marine owned his own computer business called The Future Unlimited for over 18 years. He was an avid photographer and videographer whose favorite subject was the pole vault. He helped countless athletes perfect their jumps using his stick figure hand demos and hours of available vault videos on Youtube. He invited the entire SD county to come to La Costa Canyon to vault in the Friday Night Vaults Series, which allowed vaulters to continue their seasons into the summer. But most importantly, Dedrick was the always smiling, helpful coach at the pit, willing to help anyone improve their jump.
His love for pole vaulting was followed closely by his love for music. A former saxophone player, Dedrick discovered a passion for playing the drums. He recently was given the opportunity to perform live with several up and coming artists at the Music Box in San Diego.
Dedrick Girley, will live on in the hearts of those who love him. He truly will be remembered for centuries to come.
