Dedrick E. Miller joined his wife and family in the heavens above on August 28, 2014. He was born in Coweta County on May 21, 1932 and was one of four children of the marriage of the late Maston Dexter and Leona Duncan Miller. In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bass Miller in October of last year. Dedrick was a man who loved his family and his country. He served in the Navy and was based in San Diego and even went as far as China on the USS Braine. After returning home he was content to live in Newnan. That was rare, coming from a family that spent most of their life all over the country as loggers. He was the only one of his siblings who was born in Georgia. He was absolutely the “go to guy” if you needed second hand golf balls. Collecting them off the courses locally was a hobby enjoyed. He and his wife were faithful members of Providence Baptist Church for 36 years. He is survived by his son Clay Miller and his wife Shelby of Newnan; a grandson, Matthew Miller and his wife Kayla. Nothing suited him more than being the doting great- grandfather to Grayson Miller.
