Debra Lynn Jacquet, age 58, died at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, Louisiana on Friday, December 5, 2014 after a brief illness.

Lynn was born on April 11, 1956 in Midland, Texas, to James and Dana Cherry. She grew up in Kemper County, Mississippi and Cleburne, Texas. Lynn graduated with a B.A. from Rice University in 1978 and received her M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1980. She also completed all testing for qualification as a C.P.A.

She married her college sweetheart, Timothy Jacquet, on August 5, 1978, in her hometown of Cleburne. Lynn and Tim lived in Texas before finally settling in New Orleans in 1992, where they raised their three children.

Lynn was first employed as an accountant in the oil and gas industry and later worked in the project controls group of URS Corporation in New Orleans. She also had many interests and passions outside of work.

Lynn was very physically active, swimming nearly every morning, jogging frequently, and had recently begun completing triathlons. Lynn was also a dedicated sports fan, with a special passion for the New Orleans Saints and the Rice Owls baseball team. As a foodie and Texan at heart, she retained a particular fondness for Tex-Mex food.  She was skilled in knitting and sewing and was an avid reader partial to mysteries.

Survivors include her husband, Tim; children, Louis and wife Tammy of Richmond, VA, Christina of Washington, D.C., and Elise of Chicago, IL; granddaughter, Alexis, daughter of Louis and Tammy; mother, Dana; brother, Mark Cherry; and mother-in-law, Sally Jacquet. She was preceded in death by her father, James Cherry, and her father-in-law, Constant Jacquet.
