Debra Jean Smith Wells, 60, of Newnan, GA. Passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at her home. Debra was one of six children of the late Wilmer Frank Smith and Minnie Elizabeth Moore Smith. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by two brothers, Ronnie Smith and Ronald Smith. Surviving is her loving husband of more than 45 years, Thomas “Eddie” Wells, of the home; daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Haskew, Amanda Lee (Donnie) Laughridge; son, Brad (April) Wells; sister, Terry Ann Baird; brothers, Jerry and Johnny Smith; grandchildren, James Elam, Erin Elam, Scott Elam, Breeanna Haskew, Sheldon Laughridge, Jessica Haskew, Chasity Wells, Shelby Laughridge, Brandon Laughridge and Kaley Wells. Eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Debra drove a school bus and retired after 23 years from the Fulton County Board of Education. Once she retired, some 5 years ago, she spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Debra loved her family and enjoyed gardening. She was a sassy, straight forward, speak her mind kind of girl.
