She was preceded in death by her parents: Floyd and Betty Bowman. Debra has dedicated her life to those she loved, cared about, and even to those whom she did not know. She has always fought, for an individual’s constitutional rights, for those who could not. She was energetic, determined, compassionate, and would do whatever it took, to accomplish goals, she set out. This being said, she had a great sense of humor. Debra enjoyed her last 14 years, as Business Office Manager, at Vandalia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, in Vandalia, Illinois. Prior to this position, she dedicated herself to Chamber of Commerce duties, in Springfield, IL; Taylorville, IL and Centralia, IL. During her lifetime, she was involved in a number of organizations. Naming just a few – Southern Illinois Coalition of Chambers, Centralia Rotary member.
First Night Greater Centralia Founding Committee, Kaskaskia College Small business Advisory Council, Women in Management, and Kids at Risk Coalition. Debra enjoyed having family close, in her life, and above all, giving each member as much emotional support, that was possible. She was an amazing cook and baker! Homemade pies, were her specialty.
