Deb passed away in the presence of her loving family in Maricopa, Arizona on April 3, 2015, at age 64, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Deb will be remembered as a kind, generous, and loving woman, who was passionate about caring for others. She spent 43 years as a registered nurse, focusing on pediatric critical care. She shared her warmth and compassion with patients as a caregiver and served as a mentor to those entering the nursing profession. She is survived by her husband Ken, of 42 years, sons Brian of San Francisco and Gregory of Scottsdale, granddaughter Kimber, parents Ronald and Barbara Smith of Sun City West, and siblings Diane, David, Donna, and Deana. Deb was the oldest of five children and was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania then raised on Long Island, New York. Deb and Ken moved to Arizona in 1977 to start a new adventure, where they fell in love with Arizona’s natural diversity. Deb will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her; her family takes solace knowing she was born on Easter and passed on Good Friday.
