Debra E. “Debbie” Brouwer, age 60, of Rensselaer passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at her home.
Debbie was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on May 1, 1955, the daughter of Barbara J. (Fletcher) Brown and the late John C. “Jack” Brown. She was a lifetime resident, graduating with the Class of 1973 from Rensselaer Central High School.
Debbie was married on October 2, 1976, in Rensselaer to Jon Brouwer who survives. She began working at the Jasper County Auditor’s office on March 13, 2000 and was currently employed there as a Deputy Auditor. Debbie previously worked at Lawyer’s Title Agency and Jasper County Co-Op, both in Rensselaer. Debbie’s hobbies included gardening, making floral arrangements, and interior decorating. She loved cooking for, and entertaining, family and friends, had a passion for animals and enjoyed and supported the performing arts. She was a Saint Joseph’s College Fellow and an inactive member of Tri-Kappa Sorority.
Surviving is her loving family, husband Jon of Rensselaer, sons Jason (Natalie) Brouwer of Rensselaer and Mark (Stephanie) Brouwer of Indianapolis, grandchildren Alexis, Haley and Jon C. Brouwer; her mother Barbara J. Brown of Rensselaer, sister Julie (Tony) Williams of Rensselaer and nephews Garrett Williams of Pittsburgh, PA and David Williams of Lafayette, IN. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Brown.
