On Saturday, October 8th, 2022, Debra D. Lessard (Debbie), loving wife, mother and friend was called home to be with the Lord at the young age of 66. Debbie was born on December 31st, 1955 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She was a New Year’s Eve baby and loved the big celebrations that her husband and daughter planned for her 50th and 60th birthdays. She grew up in Nashua, NH. Debbie loved the beach and spent a lot of time at Hampton Beach. Walking on the hard packed sand at low tide and feeling the warm sun on her skin brought her so much joy.
Debbie married the love of her life, Robert R. Lessard (Bobby) at the young age of 17 on May 11, 1973. Bobby and Debbie would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary next year. They had one child, Katrina C. Lessard. In 1982, the family decided to escape the snow and relocate to Arizona. Bobby and Debbie spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the sunshine and warmth of Arizona.
Debbie had a heart of gold and a zest for life. She loved making people happy and often planned the most amazing surprises. Debbie was very creative and loved to crochet. She made beautiful blankets, hats, and scarves for her loved ones. She also loved to bake and spent a lot of time in the kitchen with her husband Bobby as his sous-chef. To know Debbie was to love Debbie. She was known for her infectious smile, laughter, and her kind and compassionate spirit. Spending time with family was Debbie’s favorite activity. She looked forward to the holidays where the entire AZ family gathered for food, laughter, and joy.
Due to declining health from COPD, Debbie received a lung transplant in 2018. Debbie, her beloved husband, daughter, family, and all who loved this shining light will be forever indebted and grateful for the organ donors and their families. They allowed the family more time to laugh with her, love her, and make more memories with her. Debbie had many hurdles, but fought daily with a sparkled smile, and determination.
Debbie was preceded in death by her grandparents (Irene and Armand Sr Pelletier), father and mother (Francois and Armand, Jr Pelletier) and countless others. She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Lessard and their daughter, Katrina Lessard (Tim Rohde). Debbie is also survived by sister-in-law’s – Diane (David) Maltais and Claire Labednick; brother-in-law – Leo (Karla) Lessard; nieces – Shannon (Matt) Maltais-Johnson, Amanda (Todd) Bryan, Jennifer (Jay) Marcolongo, Donna (Jeff) Corey, Linda (Andy) Osgood; nephews Shawn (Sarah) Maltais, Jason Houle (Virginia Corona), Josh Lessard; half-siblings – Dawna (Geno) Anctil, Shawn Pelletier, Shereanne Pelletier, Joey Pelletier, Leon Lapointe, Claudette (Rodger) Rhaeume; multiple cousins and lots of friends.
