Debbie Baird Buie, age 60 of Birmingham, AL passed away on June 3, 2013. She was a member of Deerfoot Baptist Church and was employed with the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home and Family Ministries. “Mama Buie” loved her family and never met a stranger. Her interests were in loving and serving others, sewing and doing her part to find a cure for Lupus. Despite her own struggle with Lupus, she was known as someone who never complained and directed her life to love her Lord and serve those around her. She is preceded in death by her mother, Camille Swanzey Baird. She is survived by her husband, Gary Robert Buie; daughter and son-in-law, Siusan and Drew Peek and their soon to be daughter, Elaine; son, Robert Akos Buie; father, George Paul Baird, Jr. (Anna); brother, Paul Baird (Donna).
