Debra Anne Young (Kugler) passed away unexpectedly at the age of 63, on Monday, February 17 of 2020 in Kalamazoo, with her family by her side. Debi was born in Benton Harbor on March 12 of 1956, to the late Frank and Lee Anne Kugler.
Debi graduated from Portage Central High School and went on to marry her beloved husband, Steve Young in 1981. She worked several jobs in the commercial trucking area including Chemical Leaman as an office manager, she also worked for Target Distribution Center. Debi took great pride in her gardening. Debi enjoyed watching sports with her husband, she was an avid MSU and Detroit Lions and Tigers fan. She was also known for her baking and cooking during Christmas time. She always loved connecting with her family and truly enjoyed and loved spending time with her two granddaughters, Skylar and Hailey. She did everything to support her granddaughters and to make sure they felt loved and special.
Debi was preceded in death by her parents, her brother David Lee Kugler Sr., and her husband Steve Young. She is survived by her daughter Melissa (Nick) Lynn, granddaughters Skylar Young and Hailey Lynn, brother Kim (Nadine) Kugler, father-in-law Jack Young, sister-in-law Lori (David) Johnson, brother-in-law Dan (Joan) Young. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
